Arrowtown Teams -Thursday 15^th Nov Events Centre

Hi all,

Your daughter has been entered in the Wakatipu Basin Inter School Girls Cricket Festival at the Events Centre next Thursday.

We have entered teams in this tournament for the past few years and all the girls have loved it. They don’t have to be good at cricket as its played with soft balls and plastic bats and kiwi cricket rules apply where every player gets a turn at batting and bowling in each game. It is a great opportunity to play in an all girl’s competition and get a good go without being dominated by the boys!!

We will be taking a bus from school leaving at 9.00am and back by 3.00pm.

They will need lots of lunch and snacks , sunhats and sunscreen, warm clothing, plenty to drink and appropriate clothing in to be active in.

The cost is $5 for entry fee and $4 for the bus – total - $9.00

Cycle Skills

CYCLE SKILLS WED 14^TH AND THURS 15^TH NOV:

Police, Council and Outdoor World Queenstown will be running cycle safety training at the school this week (please see the timetable on the school sports blog). We will need parent volunteers to come forward to support each class on their scheduled days, it would be great to have at least 3 parents from each class.

PARENTS PLEASE can you make sure your child’s bike is in good working order, that tyres are fully pumped, your child’s helmet is safe and fits well.  For more information on what you can check on your child’s bike, the bike safety checklist on our school sports blog.   Also students will need to wear toe-covered shoes (ie no jandals) and sensible clothing to take part (nothing that can get caught in the wheels).
