2012 Year 5-8 Arrowtown School Cross Country
Monk’s Farm - Thursday 21st June
Hi all,
Our cross country is on next
Thursday 21st June. We are
very lucky to have Roger Monk’s farm for our cross country this year, which is
just passed the Arrowtown boundary, opposite the golf course. It is going to be
a true cross country this year with hills, mud and lots of cow dung to contend
with! Your kids will need a change of shoes for after the event and drink
bottle to take with them. They will have lunch before they go.
The organisation for the
event is as follows.

1.00pm – races start
Race times (approximately)
1pm – yr 5 girls
1.10pm – yr 5 boys
1.20pm – yr 6 girls
1.30pm –yr 6 boys
1.40pm – yr 7 girls
1.50pm – yr 7 boys
2.00pm- yr 8 girls
2.10pm – yr 8 boys
2.30pm -certificates presentation
2.45pm – walk back to
school
The top 6 finishers in each yr group go onto represent
our school at Central Otago Champs on August 15th at Arrowtown – It will
be the same course.
Distances (approximately)
Year 5 and 6 -1800m
Year 7 and 8 – 2500m
We need marshals on the track for the running of
the event. If you are able to help with marshalling on the track please
indicate below and meet Tim Young at
12.45pm on the day for instructions. Your help is much appreciated.
All kids are expected to
take part. If there is a medical reason as to why they can’t , a note from
their parents is required.
Come down and cheer your
kids on – they have been training hard!
